Fifty something years later (I'm horrified to hear) SIASL is in production.  How can a cinematographic representation be made without changing this gem beyond recognition?  SIASL is and was a child of the times and Michael Valentine Smith, Jubal Harshaw, Jill and the other characters need to continue to live in our minds just as half of the book takes place inside the characters' thoughts.
